Rick Roark has served on the teaching, research and clinical faculties of
academic medical centers and engineering universities in
Colorado, Texas and New York for many years. He has more than 90 peer-reviewed
publications, international conference presentations, and book chapters on topics of medicine, neuroscience,
physiology, mathematics, engineering, and renewable energy. He has
served as Principal or Co-Investigator of 16 research and education grants
funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, state
agencies, and private industry. He lectures and consults internationally. He is one of the forerunners of the solar energy industry in the US with his company designing active solar heating systems for many hundreds of homes and
businesses in the Southwestern US. He has designed many electronic and
software-based biophysical measurement systems that are currently used in
clinical and research settings. He serves as the Associate Editor of two
international biomedical journals. A summa cum laude graduate, he is a
member of Sigma Xi Scientific Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor
Society, Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society, New York Academy of Sciences, many additional professional organizations and is a Senior member of IEEE. He has received many accolades and honors for lecturing and
leadership.
